Helping Superintendents Lead Change.
 
We believe that leaders gain from the experiences of other leaders and that both tacit and scientific knowledge gained from those experiences should be shared with others. A foundation of sound research and information from implementation strategy or practice is invaluable to leaders searching for the best ways to move schools to higher levels of performance. As we all can attest, school superintendents are challenged by both the art and science of leadership.

A strong body of research now encourages leaders to study implementation practices over time. In doing so, informed leaders are capable of moving school systems from poor to good, from good to great and so forth. We believe this to be one of the bedrock principles for superintendent development today.We provide a useful working definition for evidence-based practice below:

This working definition for evidence-based practice for Superintendents is suggested by Dr. Mark Wolak, Co-Founder of BOSS: Evidence-based leadership practice is the linking of research with the study of implementation practice to achieve improved outcomes for students.
